This site explains air conditioning and heat pump problems in general terms. It is not an inspection or a diagnosis of your system.
No work is done by this site
AC Repair Ocala doesn't do heating and cooling work. When you call, you are connected with an independent local heating and cooling contractor that serves your address. That company looks at the system, gives you its price and does the work. We don't control, and can't guarantee, any contractor's work, prices, schedule or availability.
Cost ranges
Prices on this site are typical planning ranges for common jobs. They are not quotes, local averages or price guarantees. The contractor prices your job after seeing the system.
Licensing
Florida licenses air-conditioning contractors through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). Ask for the licence number and look it up at myfloridalicense.com before work starts. Anyone handling refrigerant also needs EPA Section 608 certification.
Heat and humidity
Heat illness is dangerous, especially for babies, older adults, people with health conditions and pets. If someone has symptoms such as confusion, fainting or very high body temperature, call 911. Don't wait for a repair to move vulnerable people somewhere cool. Long periods of high indoor humidity can encourage mold; extensive mold should be assessed by a qualified mold professional.
Gas and carbon monoxide
Some homes heat with gas. If you smell gas, leave the house and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. If a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, get everyone outside and call 911. Don't go back in until responders say it is safe.
Electrical and water hazards
Turn off power at the breaker before going near a unit that is wet, flooded or damaged. Leave panels, wiring and refrigerant to a licensed contractor.
